Baked Tilapia (Low Calorie)

sorry for the bad picture lol

I've been eating 1200 calories a day and trying to increase my protein. Baked fish is very low cal and high in protein and zero carbs.

This is too good not to share. I bought a bag of frozen Tilapia at Meijer's for $4.99. I put a filet in a sandwich bag and thaw it in a bowl of hot water (only takes around 5-10 mins). I then place the fish in a pan sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Then I spray the filet with zero calorie spray butter and sprinkle generously with seasonings. I've been using a garlic and herb season. Bake at 425 for 10-12 minutes.

This is great with a baked potato and a side salad!

  1. We had tillapia last night, but it was pan fried with cajun seasoning. The baked tilapia is just used with a butter spray? Is that the only seasoning. I have this thing on my blog where I am cooking my way thru blog recipes so I might try tilapia baked. Thanks for the idea!

  2. Oh it's so good. I did buy some cajun seasoning yesterday though and it was awesome. I bought the "blackened" seasoning. Yep just spray it with spray butter and sprinkle seasoning. Awesome!
