Maraschino Cherry Bars

This is a Tasty Kitchen recipe.

Ingredients
•1 cup Sugar

•1 cup Soft Butter
•1 whole Egg
•1 teaspoon Vanilla
•½ teaspoons Almond Extract
•2-¼ cups Flour
•⅛ teaspoons Salt
•½ cups Chopped Maraschino Cherries

•FOR THE GLAZE:

•½ cups Powdered Sugar
•Maraschino Cherry Juice

Cream sugar and butter. Beat in egg, vanilla, and almond extract. Stir in flour and salt, then the cherries. Chill for at least 1 hour. Pat dough into a lightly greased 15″ x 10″ jelly roll pan. Bake at 350F for 15- 18 minutes. Cool completely and drizzle with glaze.

To make the glaze, combine powdered sugar and enough cherry juice till you get the right consistency

I don't have a jelly roll pan so I used 8x8 pan. I also did not refrigerate the dough. It turned out fine. All the kids LOVED it. Makes a great Valentine's Day dessert.
