Baby's 2nd Birthday Party

Being the weird perfectionist retro housewife that I am I love presentation when it comes to bday parties, holidays and get togethers.

For baby's 2nd birthday party I made cupcakes (from box mix) and dyed the icing neon colors using neon colored food coloring.

I served my Nutella "Fancy Smores" since they were such a big hit at the Mommy Party.

I bought a store bought cake and added M&M's all over the cake and cotton candy on top.

I made a banana split brownie cake by layer in a springform pan; little debbie snack cake browines, strawberry icecream, banana slices, hot fudge sauce, vanilla ice cream and maraschino cherries.

I then made cute pink and white cookies by making my cake mix cookies and adding a few drops of hot pink food coloring making the cookies have a marbled look. Then I made an icing for them mixing juice from maraschino cherries and powdered sugar. I also added more pink cotton candy to the middle of the plate as decoration.

I love to have fresh flowers in the middle to really pull everything together.

Coconut Swirl Brownies

Coconut Swirl Brownies



½ cup unsalted butter, cut into small pieces


¾ cup plus 1 tbsp sugar


1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk


2/3 cup unsweetened shredded coconut


1 large egg white


2 ¼ teaspoons vanilla extract


2 oz unsweetened chocolate coarsely chopped


4 oz semisweet chocolate coarsely chopped


2/3 cup flour


½ tsp baking powder


¼ coarse salt


3 large eggs






Preheat oven to 350. Grease 8 in square baking pan.


Stir together 1 tbsp sugar, condensed milk, coconut and egg white and ¼ tsp vanilla in a small bowl.


Put butter and both chocolates in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water; stir until melted


Whisk together flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl.


Whisk remaining ¾ sugar into chocolate mixture. Add eggs; whisk until mixture is smooth. Stir in remaining 2 tbsp vanilla. Add flour mixture; stir until well combined.


Pour one third of chocolate batter into prepared pan. Spread evenly with spatula. Drop dollops of coconut mixture on top of batter. Drizzle remaining batter on top and swirl with a knife.


Bake 35-40 minutes.

Nacho Mama Tees Review

We were lucky enough to review a t-shirt from Nacho Mama Tees

I let my son pick a t-shirt and he chose....

A Best Seller Tee, I would rather be wearing my snuggie.

Oh this makes my kids giggle. His little sister already stole it and wore it before he could to school!

There is nothing like a funny tshirt to break the ice, make someone smile, or let's face it...make yourself look cool. I went out the other night and there was a guy wearing a t-shirt that said "Free Hugs" he got lots of women's attention that night!

Facebook Page Verification. Anyone have to do this?

I participated in a facebook like you back, blog hop today and now facebook wants me to confirm my identity.

There are only 2 ways

They show you pictures of your friends and you have to name them

I can't do that because I don't know my peeps names on there

I tried to do that but my cell phone number is already affiliated with my personal fb page.

Chocolate Soft Pretzels

Chocolate Pretzels



¼ cup unsweetened cocoa


1 tsp instant coffee


3 tbsp boiling water


½ stick unsalted butter, room temp


¼ cup granulated sugar


1 tsp vanilla extract


½ coarse salt


1 large egg


2 cups flour


1 large egg yolk


1 tsp water


*coarse sanding sugar, for sprinkling


Stir cocoa and coffee powders into the boiling water in a small bowl until dissolved.


Put butter and granulated sugar in the bowl of mixer. Beat on medium speed until creamy. Mix in vanilla and salt. Reduce speed to medium low. Mix in egg, then cocoa mixture. Gradually add flour and mix until a smooth dough forms. Turns out onto a piece of plastic; pat into a square. Wrap dough and refrigerate until cold, about 30 minutes.


Preheat oven to 325. Divide dough into 24 equal pieces. Roll into balls. Shape balls into 12 inch long ropes. (turds) Yes on your recipe card write shape into a turd. This is also a great time in the recipe to fake people out in your house. You may even want to take a bite of this and gross people out.

Shape into pretzels. Space 1 inch apart on cookie sheet.


Whisk egg yolk with water in a bowl. Brush cookies with egg wash. Sprinkle with sanding sugar Bake pretzels about 15 mins.

U-Stripe It Review

So simple a 9 year old can use it.

This my lovelies is the U-Stripe It painting tool. You can add stripes or lines to any room.

Vertical Lines- add height to a room
Horizontal Lines- add width (makes a room feel spacious)

I use to love watching Trading Spaces. Anyone remember that show? I remember seeing them paint stripes in rooms sometimes and I knew there was no way I could ever have that much patience, steady hand and creativity to do something like that.

This tool makes it super easy.

Tighten the wingnuts to adjust the width of the stripe you would like to have. Apply painters tape to the wall. Paint inside the painters tape and you have a stripe.

At first my aunt was going to do this in her home, but she got so busy with a new job that she gave it back to me since I did not want to keep the company waiting for a review. So I decided I would paint a stripe on the wall but now we are selling the house and moving. BUT I have another friend who is remodeling his house and my aunt is still interested so I hope to show you some pictures before too long.

My aunt is interested in painting a white stripe all around the top of her room (underneath the crown molding) to make the walls look taller in her dining room.

Crazy Dog T-Shirts

I love funny t-shirts. My kids love funny t-shirts. My kids even love funny costumes. We had so much fun looking through the t-shirt designs at CrazyDog Tshirts.

It was sooo hard choosing just one. But I chose the "This is my dam shirt" which you can find in the women's section.

I love having a new t-shirt. T-shirts are something I never buy for myself and I ended up borrowing t-shirts from my son when I want to go to the gym. Wearing a funny t-shirt shows the world that you have a sense of humor. Don't you want the world to know, you are a humorous person? I know I do ;o)


I love the St. Patrick's Day T-Shirts. I never have anything St. Paddy's green to wear on St. Patrick's day, and I hate getting pinched. Ouch

I am behind

Been going through some personal stuff and I am behind on following back from blog hops and post but hope to get back on track this weekend. How are my lovelies?

Paula Deen 5" and 7" Santoku Knife Set (CSN Stores Review)

I was so pleased to have teh chance to review Paula Deen's Santoku Knife set for CSN Stores!

I have horrible knives. A couple of times people have asked me what I wanted for my birthday or Christmas and I would say KNIVES. But I still never received any that I was impressed with.

Well look out my dear husband, mama has a new set of knives!

I have written before how I buy boneless skinless chicken breasts and cut them in half lengthwise to double the amount of breasts and reduce the cooking time.

Well I came home from the grocery store last night and had to cut the chicken like I always do and hate,  Oh my goodness it was so easy! It took no time at all, there was no struggling to get the chicken cut. You can read the reviews at the link, the reviews have spoken and these knives are wonderful.

I'm so happy that I ordered them and now I won't have to dread everytime I buy a watermelon or cantaloupe. I will be able to chop peppers and onions quickly!

The knives are made extremely well and they are heavy. I have never owned knives like these and now I would like to order more Paula Deen knives.
